PlantFile is a database on plants for the Horticulture industry including, students, landscapers, nurseries, landscape designers/ architects, local councils, collages. The PlantFile CD Rom is an upgradeable software package that covers all information on plant species and there cultivars and includes pest and disease information relative to each plant. There are over 11,000 images and the database may be searched in many ways including botanical description or specific criteria, soil, use, size, etc.PlantFile was firs started in 1982 as a study guide for horticulture students but was not released until 2001 and now has over 5,000 users in 4 countries. It is also expanding to the PlantFile Search database (a customised web based plant database for nurseries and government organizations).
